ALEX BADEH: NIGERIANS ARE HAPPY OVER THE STIFF N2B BAIL CONDITION

Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (retd)

A federal high court Sitting in Abuja yesterday granted bail to former chief of defense staff Air Chief Marshal, Alex Badeh (retd) to the tune of N2billion  to be provided by 2 sureties in the sum of N1B each.

This bail condition is coming amid the recent travails he has faced with the raid and seizure of his house and properties and his consequent arraignment before the court along with  a company, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, on 10 counts of money laundering.

When this news first appeared on the punchng, the first thing that came to mind was wow!!; and for a brief moment most Nigerians forgot the biting hunger and hardship in the land to shout kudos to this administration for this kind of clamp down. I went to the comments section to see if other Nigerians shared my sentiments and to my surprise the hailing of the ruling was almost unanimous. Meanwhile I want to agree with OBJ that the EFCC has become a toothless bulldog because as you can notice, No body has been brought to book or slammed jail sentences for their crimes in tandem with the constitution.

Below is a screen shot of the reactions of some Nigerians on disqus forum to this news.
