MR PRESIDENT IS GOING ON ANOTHER TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC
Our President and Commander in Chief of the Armed forces President Muhammadu Buhari is set to take yet another trip out of the country to attend a meeting on Nuclear Security billed to converge at Washington DC tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
In recent times, Nigerians have highly lambasted the president for his numerous trips earning him the nomenclature of Junketeer General.
Apart from the fact that the country is in a very unstable financial condition while these these travels rake up millions of Naira, the country is also administratively unstable. It has been 10 months since he assumed office and no workable policies have been set rolling to provide employment for the teeming unemployed population, inflation has been on the increase, security of lives and properties has nose-dived to the lowest ebb, fuel scarcity is ravaging and three months gone into 2016 with no budget passed. With these burning issues, many Nigerians believe he should sit at home and rule rather than fly around the world in his Private Jet.
This visit however is of a peculiar nature as it is meant to discuss nuclear proliferation in the world with Buhari Pledging his support for non-proliferation while urging the world powers to support and take cognizance of the rights to the peaceful use of nuclear power by other countries.
The Presidential delegation to Washington DC includes Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, the National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.) and the Director-General of Nigeria’s Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Prof Lawrence Anikwe Dim.
Let's hope this yields results.
