The True Change

We thought it strange that President Muhammadu Buhari during his Inauguration Speech made it clear that he belonged to nobody and he yet belonged to everybody. On that day, in my house were my friends and PDP die-hards watching but the power of that speech engineered the hands of everyone to produce a clap. we were cheering loudly at the power of that line.

Seven months down the line,
i have had cause to hide my face in shame when i remembered ho i cheered and allowed my face to glisten with smiles and praises. Papa Buhari sir, you belong to loyalists and APC men.

I make bold to say this because of how you appointed Amaechi as minister even amidst shouts and cries from Nigerians on the brazen looting that went on in Rivers State under his watch. Despite the petition submitted to the EFCC, it was covered up and he was allowed to be the Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.

What about the Corruption Charge against Saraki which has been swept under the carpet since he danced to the tune of the APC to approve all senators presented before him. A criminal is a criminal, if he was or is guilty, i think he should still be brought to book and not left of the hook unpunished. If he was innocent before being charged and docked in court, he should be publicly apologized to and his name sanitized for the wrong charges.

The National Budget Saga (missing budget) was a show of shame. It is a surprise that people have not been sacked and some restructuring done in the budget office already. Yet we hear that that the consultant that wrote the budget is to be paid in several millions.

Our president so far has done well and brought sanctity to certain quarters of the Nigerian society but i believe more can be done by showing forth the true change in the way Justice is administered, criminals are dealt with and the way sanctity is restored whole heartedly without fear favour or bias.
